Join us for a day of hands-on spoon carving! This class will focus on carving techniques so you can continue making spoons and kitchen utensils to your heart’s content. Each participant will be provided with up to three hardwood blanks to make their own spoon or spatula. Local hardwood choices include cherry, maple, apple, and birch.
No carving experience needed; but first time spoonmakers may only have time to complete one spoon on the day of class. Those with more experience may complete two or three.
Shave horses, tools, and materials are all provided; some sharpening basics and finishing techniques will also be covered on the day of class. Come prepared to get dirty, have fun, and give your hand muscles a workout.
Additional spoon blanks and carving tools can be purchased from the instructor on the day of the class.
