WindowDressers Insulating Window Inserts are built at Community Workshops across Maine. Typically, a rotating crew of 10-12 volunteers per half-day shift come together to assemble the inserts over several days. No special skills are necessary and every simple job is taught on-site by our experienced volunteers.

WindowDressers is a non-profit organization that brings volunteers together to improve the warmth and comfort of homes, lower heating costs, and reduce CO2 emissions by producing low-cost insulating window inserts that function as interior-mounted storm windows. WindowDressers staff supplies, trains, and supports teams of community volunteers as they build affordable, insulating window inserts at local workshops.

Tear Cap Workshops is teaming up with the Sacopee Energy Alliance to build these insulating window insert frames in the Community Woodworking Shop, Wednesday – Saturday, November 6 – 9. Volunteers will then finish wrapping the frames at the Parsonsfield gym the following week.
