In this class you will learn how to add skin to a skin-on-frame kayak. Sewing the skin on the frame is a great learning experience for anyone interested in the steps of kayak construction as practiced by the Greenland Inuit people. James Hsiang has been building canoes and kayaks since the early 1970s, focusing on traditional techniques that are pegged and lashed without use of screws or nails. After the kayak is skinned it will be donated to Tear Cap Workshops. Students can opt for the morning or afternoon class at $50, or for both classes for $80.
